Here’s a new feature we’re starting at the Philz Coffee Blog where we feature the dogz of Philz Coffee. It seems that a lot of dog lovers are also coffee lovers. It’s a great combination…so say hello to Spanky.
Spanky has been coming around Philz Palo Alto since we opened (and probably before too). He loves our deck and will hang out for endless hours in the morning to enjoy himself (as can be seen with the picture above).
Spanky’s favorite thing @ Philz: Playing with his tennis ball on the deck and getting the occasional hot dog or cheese bites from his owner.
Owner’s drink of choice: The blend depends on the day but I can tell you this — it’s 12 ounces of straight-up unadulterated Philz Coffee in his cup.
Have you ever been to the Philz on 24th and Folsom? Photos and memorabilia blanket the walls, the comfy living room is filled with mismatched furniture, and the bounty of plants and sky mural above make you feel as though your in some other world. It is here where the magic was born. Below are scanned artifacts from this special place that help tell the story of how Philz Coffee came to be.
LAST SATURDAY WE HAD A BBQ, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT!!!! Here’s a few flicks from the get down.
Me and Charlie, dudes and wieners – how awesome is that?
Brianna got her Cub Scout kit on for the cookout, you can tell she’s super stoked.
Ladies of Philz.
So yeah, I’m no pro photographer but I was fortunate to meet this dude HENRY SUN who is a rad photographer and he kicked down a lot of good flicks of the event which follow my crummy ones. Check his work out and drop a line if you need someone to photograph your event like a pro! You can also see a ton more pictures he took by joining our PHILZ COFFEE PALO ALTO facebook group.
Drink: Jacob’s Wonderbar
What he has to say about Philz Coffee: “There is coffee and there is Philz! At our company, PALANTIR TECHNOLOGIES©, coming back from a Philz run is the only good reason to be a few minutes late to a meeting.”
An awesome customer right here, this guy is a maniac, he carries co-workers on his back and RUNS them to Philz to get them to try their first cup. He’s always in a great mood, keeping things positive so it’s obviously a pleasure when he drops by. It’s really refreshing when I can talk to customers about the problems with true enterprise data platforms, like how much of a pain it is that users build revisioning into their file names, or how data resync is pretty much impossible – which honestly is a real world need. Leave it to the dudes at Palantir to work all that out for you because they’re on top of the game.
Drink: Mint Mojito Iced Coffee
What he had to say about Philz Coffee: “Great place with amazing service.”
Drink: Mocha Tesora Iced
What he had to say about Philz Coffee: “For a non-coffee drinker it’s very interesting and I will be trying lots more flavors. Like science experimenting with caffeine, excellent!”
This great group came in last week, and few of them for the first time. Philz has to attract the friendliest demographic of customer because these folks were awesome. Glad you enjoyed the drink, see you all soon!!
1 iced coffee and 1 Dog, would you like that for here or to go? To go? Alright have a good one see you folks soon.
Can you tell I was holding a dog biscuit?
PHILZ COFFEE IS FOR THE CHILDREN!
Drink: Ecstatic Iced Coffee
What she had to say about Philz: “Best iced coffee I’ve had…and great staff! Philz is officially my neighborhood coffee shop.”
Tracy is just a cool-as-all-get-out type of person. You know what? She worked some jobs she didn’t like and then was like “Screw this I want to do graphic design.” So she put the pedal to the floorboards and went to the Rhode Island School of Design and is a rad graphic designer now. She gets to design logos for top chefs who moonlight as heavy metal shredders at night. I wanted to learn how to make awesome coffee so I went to work at Philz – pretty much the same thing, just living the dream.
