Since this is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and we’re a green company here at Philz, I thought it would be a great idea to highlight some of the events happening throughout the week taking advantage of Earth Day this Thursday!
Even if you can’t get out to enjoy the festivities, remember that every time you bring your reusable mug to Philz for a cup of coffee, it’s always the price of a small. Hopefully, that’s all the motivation you need to become greener in your life!

* Earth Day Programs (April 17-25): A wide range of daily activities and animal presentations will feature fun facts and tips about protecting our planet.
* Fragile Planet (April 17-25): Enjoy Morrison Planetarium’s inaugural show, Fragile Planet, as it returns for a one-week engagement. Details below.
* Earth Day at NightLife (April 22): Celebrate our extreme home, Earth – the only planet known to support life – during an eco-themed NightLife event from 6-10pm.
* Family Explorations of Golden Gate Park (April 24-25): Join an Academy Naturalist outdoors and learn about our wild neighbors, the ecosystems where they live and what you can do to help protect them.
In our “almost” new home, Berkeley, they are doing it up right with a great festival on Saturday, April 24th. Music, at Civic Center Park at Martin Luther King Way and Allston Way
San Jose State University sustainability week. Through April 25, San Jose State will offer free special Earth Day programming, including panel discussions, speakers, garden tours and movie screenings at 1 Washington Square, San Jose. Earth Day on the Avenue. Willow Glen celebrates Earth Day with a free seed and eco-prize giveaway and local green products and services marketplace, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. April 24. Downtown Willow Glen, Lincoln Avenue, San Jose. Free. More information at Willow Glen’s website.

Redwood Grove Workdays:
This season’s restoration activities will focus on invasive plant removal and installation of native plants. Regular workdays will be held the 2nd and last Saturday of each month from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm unless otherwise noted.
